FAQ

Q: Why do Eurofresh Farms tomatoes taste so good?
A: All of our varieties are selected for their superior characteristics. Also, our professional staff provides tender loving care in our sunny Arizona greenhouse!

Q: Why are Eurofresh Farms tomatoes "America's Best Tasting Tomato?"
A: Chefs at the American Culinary Institute, who use tomatoes in a number of their recipes, have recognized Eurofresh Farms as the best tasting tomatoes for ten consecutive years.

Q: Should I refrigerate my Eurofresh Farms tomatoes?
A: No, because refrigerator temperatures are typically set at 35-38 degrees. Tomatoes should be kept at 55 degrees. Why hide them in a refrigerator? If they are refrigerated they will quickly lose taste and shelf life. Try it for yourself - they'll taste much better if stored in a bowl on your counter, but you won't have too long of an opportunity to compare because you'll be eating them all day long!

Q: How should I store and handle my tomatoes?
A: Please do not refrigerate your tomatoes and store as close to 55 degrees as possible. Place them in an open bowl, as with all fresh fruits and vegetables. Wash in clean water before use.

Q: Where can I find Eurofresh Farms tomatoes?
A: Eurofresh Farms tomatoes are available year round at leading supermarkets throughout the United States and Canada. Ask your grocer's produce manager to stock Eurofresh Farms - "America's Best Tasting Tomato."

Q: Why the name Eurofresh?
A: It's a tribute to our Dutch founders.

Q: What is the difference between tomatoes on the vine and beefsteak tomatoes?
A: On-the-vine tomatoes are typically smaller and are sold in clusters. Beefsteak tomatoes are generally larger and are sold individually.

Q: What does "Vine-Ripened" mean?
A: Eurofresh Farms tomatoes ripen naturally on the vine. No artificial means are used in pre or post-harvest ripening.

Q: What nutritional value do Eurofresh Farms tomatoes provide?
A: Eurofresh tomatoes are high in Lycopene, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron. Learn more about Tomato Nutrition information.

Q: How do you control pests?
A: The optimal growing conditions in Arizona make our tomatoes less susceptible to pests and disease. Moreover, a fine balance between natural predators ("good bugs") and beneficial insects is maintained at all times to stop any pest or disease.

Q: Are your tomatoes genetically engineered or modified?
A: No, Eurofresh Farms tomato varieties are a result of a traditional selecting process. The tomatoes are grown from natural seeds and are not modified in any way.

Q: Why grow tomatoes in a greenhouse?
A: A greenhouse is a controlled environment that results in an excellent quality product year-round. Printer Friendly Version
